On 30 October 2024, I spoke at the Mobile Trends Conference AI Edition at the Wrocławska Akademia Biznesu. Together with Julia Waincetel from Performics, I gave a presentation titled "Overcoming resistance to AI: how early adopters can inspire changes in management and AI adoption in Polish enterprises".
We showed what AI adoption looks like in Poland, provided implementation examples, and offered tips on managing them. In my part, I discussed topics such as:
- Some people are yet to discover AI tools, while a large group consciously avoids them.
- The fear of learning stems from feeling insufficiently skilled. The solution involves learning to prompt and testing, with the initial discomfort being completely natural.
- Job security concerns are often fuelled by catchy media headlines.
- History shows the price of resistance: the printing ban in the Ottoman Empire resulted in 200 years of technological stagnation compared to Europe.
- It is worth looking for experts within your own company, as workshops and hackathons allow employees to implement AI in their processes themselves. They need to see that AI is implemented to benefit them directly, alongside the company.
