This was one of my first talks on 21 March 2024 at the Mobile Trends Conference in the Multikino in Kraków. In the UX Design track, I had 25 minutes for my talk 'The artistic soul of generative AI, or how to create images using words'. Before the conference, I also made a video teaser where the entire clip was generated by AI.
I showed step by step how to get from an idea to an image, and then to movement:
- It is best to start with reverse engineering: breaking down a ready photo into the character and subject, background and details, and technique.
- A good prompt has two parts. The story of the image consists of the character, mood, details, and background. The technical details include the technique, camera and lens, lighting, and composition.
- A character sheet allows you to keep the same character in subsequent shots. I made mine from my own photo.
- From such a character, you can build a storyboard, and then change the framing.
- Finally, I asked the question 'Will it move?' and showed how generated images can be brought to life.
You will find the conference programme on the Mobile Trends 2024 website.
