On 1 October 2026, I visited Łódź to take part in a panel during the ETER Anima Festival at NCKF. Together with Kajetan Wykusz, an illustrator and storyboard artist, we talked about what artificial intelligence, VR, and digital tools change in animation and comics. The meeting was hosted by Marcin Waincetel (Pan Animacja).
During the panel, I shared my perspective after a few years of working with AI in advertising and film productions. I pointed out several aspects:
- AI accelerates production, while the creator makes the final decisions. At the beginning, there is always a human who knows what to show and how it should work.
- The model is trained on general data. It discovers our taste and style only when we provide them through references, descriptions, and consistency.
- AI offers plenty of possibilities, and it is also great to do something completely analogue with your own hands. Both approaches perfectly complement each other.
The recording of our conversation will be available soon. You can find more information about the panel on the event website.
